Love meat with a passion

Although the Masai love their meat with a passion, they hate to slaughter their animals and it is not uncommon to see a Masai who owns a large herd of cattle regularly visiting a butcher to purchase meat. It is only during prolonged dry spells when they fear that their animals will die that the Masai actually grudgingly sell off most of their herds in large numbers.
