Do Lions Really Fear "The Maasai?"

Do powerful wild animals like the lion really fear humans like the Maasai tribe? Or is this just legend and fiction with very little truth?

Actually a lion like most other cats is quick to pick on a scent. The Maasai scent in particular, it would be familiar with because the lions have always lived side by side with the Maasai.
